Message I'm posting this for a friend who recently purchased tt.net member Magnum's old white TT. It seems like the car was thrown together quickly and never fine tuned, and there seems to be more lag than the current setup should have.

Here is the mod list as it was dyno'd:

Border 850 Injectors in parallel setup
4" thick FMIC with all 2.5 inch piping
Full 3" specialty-z exhaust
RZT Manifolds
Garret GT3071R's (.82 a/r)
Forged internals
JWT 400 cams, Ti retainers (possibly no port work - unsure)
Dual intake (not sure if it's doolz or JWT style)
HKS SSQ BOV's
ATI Damper
AEM EMS Version 2
HKS twin ignition
4.10 Leader gears

and here is the dyno:

The run was supposedly done at 19psi on 92 octane. The peak number is good for pump, but I feel there should be more down low. Note ~250rwhp at 4500rpm.

The only other 3071 dyno I could find that didn't have a bad picture link was Greg's, and he was making ~450rwhp at 4500rpm (albeit on C/Q16) but nonetheless there is a 200hp difference there.

I know the graph isn't ideal with him starting a WOT pull after 4000rpm, but the fact remains that the car is laggy and there is a loss of power in parts of the powerband.

So, what would you attribute this to? What steps/changes would you make to increase spool time? A new tune is in order, but are any of the listed parts an area of concern? How much of a difference might certain changes such as port work, a proper tune, and a selin dual intake make? Should adjustable cam gears be installed to take full advantage of the JWT cams?

I'd love to hear any of your thoughts, especially Greg, Machtavian, and any other 3071 owners if possible. Thanks!
